Description

Don Quixote tells the story of Alonso Quixano, an elderly Spanish man who becomes obsessed with reading tales of knights and chivalry. Believing himself to be a knight-errant, he renames himself Don Quixote and sets out on adventures to revive chivalry and fight injustice.

He is accompanied by his loyal and practical squire, Sancho Panza. Don Quixote often mistakes ordinary objects for magical or dangerous things — the most famous example being windmills that he imagines are giants. His adventures are humorous, tragic, and philosophical at the same time.

The novel explores the conflict between imagination and reality, idealism and practicality, and the power of dreams.
