Description (English)

This play uses a rural dialect to expose the hypocrisy of society. The heroine, Shiv Vahu's daughter Kamu, wishes to marry the son of a butcher, but her farmer father refuses because of caste differences. The discussions and Shiv Vahu's bold responses make the play engaging. In the end, Kamu commits suicide by jumping into the village well, yet the villagers continue to insult her by calling her a witch. Through this tragic incident, the play highlights the double standards and social prejudice prevailing in society.

આ નાટકમાં ગામઠી ભાષાનો ઉપયોગ કરી સમાજને છતું કરવામાં આવ્યું છે. નાયિકા શિવ વહુ ની દીકરી કમુડી કસાઈના દીકરાને પરણવા માંગે છે. પણ તેના ખેડૂત પિતા નાત જાતનો વિચાર કરીને લગ્ન સ્વીકારવા તૈયાર નથી થતાં. તે સમયની ચર્ચા અને શિવ વહુના જવાબો નાટકને રસપ્રદ બનાવી દે છે.અંતે કમુ ગામના કૂવામાં પડતું મૂકે છે. ત્યારબાદ પણ તેને ડાકણ કહીને ગામવાળા અપમાન કરે છે.જે ઘટના સમાજના બે મોઢાને નાટકમાં દર્શાવવા માંગે છે.
