Description

Gujarati is the state language of Gujarat and its knowledge is essential for easy and effective intercourse with the people of this state. It is also used extensively in Bombay, the capital of Maharashtra.

This book proposes to introduce Gujarati in a lucid manner. It is planned and prepared to acquaint non-Gujarati people be they Indians or foreigners-with this vigorous and lively language.

The introductory chapter in the book begins with the alphabet. This is then followed by simple lessons, properly graded. A systematic training is pro-vided in reading, vocabulary, pronun-ciation and grammar.

Subtleties of pronunciation have been explained by giving the transliteration in Roman characters. This has been further simplified by the use of ac-cented letters.
