Rabindranath Tagore was one of India’s greatest poets, writers, philosophers, musicians, and educators. He became the first Asian Nobel Prize winner in Literature in 1913 for his famous work Gitanjali. His writing explored nature, spirituality, humanism, love, freedom, education, and the relationship between the individual and society.

Tagore wrote poetry, short stories, novels, plays, essays, and songs. He also founded Visva-Bharati University at Santiniketan, promoting a broad and creative approach to education. His literary and cultural contributions have had a lasting influence on Indian and world literature
