This play uses characters like Dhanji, Makan, Paslo, and others to critique child marriage, women's exploitation, and superstition. After Paslo shares his tragic story, the village council bans child marriage and marriage brokers. Women like Kashi and Diwali protest against fargati (divorce practices) where women are traded like livestock, inspiring men to destroy these agreements and respect women. Lastly, Dhanji and others expose frauds who use superstition and witch doctors to scam the sick. Ultimately, the story highlights the importance of social awareness and ending harmful traditions

આ નાટકમાં ધનજી, મકન, રુડા, પસલો અને અન્ય ગ્રામજનોના માધ્યમથી સમાજમાં વ્યાપ્ત બાળવિવાહ, સ્ત્રી-શોષણ, કુરિવાજો અને અંધશ્રદ્ધા જેવા દૂષણો પર સચોટ કટાક્ષ કરવામાં આવ્યો છે. ગાંડા અને ઈચ્છાના પરિવારમાં ૬ વર્ષના પૌત્રના લગ્ન કરાવવાની વાત પર પસલો પોતાની આર્થિક અને શારીરિક પાયમાલીનો દાખલો આપી બાળવિવાહનો સખત વિરોધ કરે છે, જેથી ધનજી અને પંચ ભેગા મળીને નાની ઉંમરે લગ્ન ન કરાવવાનો તથા લગ્નની દલાલી બંધ કરવાનો નિર્ણય લે છે. બીજી તરફ, કાશી અને દિવાળી જેવી સ્ત્રીઓની ફારગતી (છૂટાછેડા)ના કરારો દ્વારા ઢોર-ઢાંખરની જેમ કિંમત નક્કી કરીને લેવેચ કરવાના રિવાજ સામે સ્ત્રીઓ પોતે જાગૃત થઈને સવાલો ઉઠાવે છે, જેનાથી આંખ ઊઘડતાં બાબુ અને જેઠો ફારગતીના દસ્તાવેજો ફાડી નાખી સ્ત્રી સન્માનનો માર્ગ અપનાવે છે. અંતમાં, બીખો અને નાગરીયો જેવા ધુતારા દ્વારા માતા-ભુવાના નામે બીમારીઓમાં લોકો પાસેથી પૈસા પડાવવાના અંધશ્રદ્ધાના ધતિંગનો ધનજી, મકન અને માલજી પર્દાફાશ કરે છે. આમ, સમગ્ર કથા સામાજિક કુપ્રથાઓ અને અંધશ્રદ્ધા દૂર કરી જાગૃતિ લાવવાનો સંદેશ આપે છે.
